5th Shanghai Archaeology Forum: Research Award for Albert Hafner

From December 15th to 18th 2023, the 5th Shanghai Archaeology Forum on the theme «Archaeology of Climate Change and Social Sustainability» took place. This forum has been held every two years since 2013, covering varying topics and organized by the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage. Approximately 400 participants presented the latest research findings in global archaeological research. During the forum, nine awards for field research and ten research awards were granted. The laureates were selected by 83 archaeologists from more than 40 countries from among nearly 1000 nominees. Albert Hafner received a research award for his work in the field of «High-resolution climate change archaeology».
