Leica TS07 Total Station Supporting Precise Documentation at Lin 3

Since the excavation season of 2024, the EXPLO project team has been utilizing a Leica TS07 total station to enhance the precision of archaeological documentation at the site of Lin 3, located on the western shore of Lake Ohrid. This instrument, acquired with the kind support of the University of Bern Research Foundation, allows the team to record excavation data with high accuracy, integrating it seamlessly into digital workflows such as photogrammetry and GIS.

The total station enables precise measurement of spatial data, supporting the detailed documentation of excavation layers, features, and artifacts. By improving the accuracy and efficiency of on-site recording, this technology ensures that critical information about the site’s structure and finds is preserved for future analysis and interpretation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the University of Bern Research Foundation for their generous contribution, which has significantly advanced our ability to study and understand the early Neolithic transition in Europe.
